NOTE! We do not currently accept visitations or requests for visitations to Water Services. No new visits will be booked from March 2020 to August 2020. The status of any visits scheduled between May and June will tentatively be changed, and the situation will be checked by 14.4.2020. According to the current estimations, visits may be booked or moved to dates after September 1, 2020.
We arrange guided tours at the Viikinmäki Wastewater Treatment Plant and Vanhakaupunki Water Treatment plant in Helsinki. The visits are not suitable for the physically handicapped. For safety reasons, we cannot arrange visits at the plant for schoolchildren younger than 7th graders.
The Viikinmäki WWTP welcomes various groups of visitors (students of upper comprehensive school from grade 7 and older, and students in secondary education
, companies, associations and societies, NGOs, educational institutions, and media). The maximum size of visit at WWTP is 25 persons.
At the Vanhakaupunki WTP we organize tours for experts, water management students, and journalists. The WTP does not offer visits for students in upper comprehensive schools or secondary education. The maximum size of visit at WTP is 20 persons.
How to schedule a visit
- You can book a visit by using the reservation forms for students and NGOs, or for experts.
- We will contact you when you have completed and submitted the form.
We would like to inform you that our schedule and human resources are quite limited, so therefore we cannot guarantee all requests. We will respond to your request within four working days.
Unfortunately we cannot answer the phone calls (requests). Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
The price for company and business based visits is EUR 400 + VAT 24%. The visits are free of charge for water utilities, associations and societies, colleges and trade schools. For further information please contact: vesi.vierailut(at)hsy.fi
You must book your visit well in advance (at least two weeks beforehand).
Visits are normally organized during business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
School visits are mainly organised during the school year.
The duration of a visit is roughly 1.5 hours.
During the summer holiday time (1st June–30th July) possibility to accept take the visitors is limited.
If you would like to have coffee served during the visit, the additional expenses will be charged to your group. Coffee service cannot be arranged at the Vanhakaupunki WTP.
